Greetings friends,

We from COPS ministry pray that you are blessed. God has truly been doing great and exciting things in our services where ever we go.

We have been going into U – Turn for Christ once a month having great services with the men at this facility. Most of the men there are dealing with drug and or alcohol addictions. This facility was started by Pastor Gerry Brown (Calvary Chapel Romo Land) several years ago to help men find Christ as their Lord and Savior and to deal with their addictions. The response to salvation or rededications to the Lord have been great during our services.

We have been blessed because we hold our own church service at the East Facility at Chino Prison. We are scheduled on the second Sunday of every month. The attendance there continues to grow. The men tell us that they really enjoy our services. We are excited as God not only blesses the men we minister to but we too are extremely blessed.

In February members travelled to Arkansas for our 12th year in a row. We had a wonderful time. We ministered to hundreds of inmates in six prisons. Several men received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and many more rededicated their lives to the Lord.

We are sending a team to Arizona on May 16, 2014. They will be ministering to the men incarcerated at the Phoenix West Prison and the Phoenix Reception Prison. The team will be doing four services. Please keep them in your prayers.

Friends, why is it important to do prison ministry? Well for starters God tells us in Matthew 25:36 that we are to visit those in prison. Members from COPS ministry are men and woman that are willing to answer that call and that is why we do this, “Much needed ministry”.

Recently, I pulled some stats off of Prison Fellowship’s newsletter that just might surprise you. According to their stats, did you know that there are approximately 2.3 million people behind bars? Did you know that approximately 50 billion dollars is spent in state expenditures with six billion in federal money? It is the world’s largest jailer. Did you know that the California Department of Corrections spending grew approximately four times the rate of the general fund spending between 1980 to 2000? Did you know that approximately 700,000 prisoners each year will be re-arrested with in three years which equals more crimes and more victims?

We from COPS ministry believe that when an inmate truly receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior chances of them re-committing crimes is very slim! Jesus, He is the answer for crime reduction!

On behalf of COPS ministry, we want to ask you to continue supporting us with your prayers, encouragement and financial support. Thank you for your support.
